Streetshops appear at www.streetshirts.co.uk/yourownuniquename.

However, you are not limited to this. If you already have a website, the main body of the Streetshop can be added to your site. It's been designed to fit into your website template, so you don't need to be the web designer to do this. On the Advanced setting page of your Streetshops set simply type in the web address of the page you want it to appear on. It really is that easy! We also provide code for your Streetshop so it can be pasted into your blog.

Where will my Streetshop appear?

If you are adding Streetshops to your own domain name or embedding Streetshops into an existing website, please allow time for the domain name to be approved by own Streetshops team.

How do I get my designs to show in my Streetshop?

To create a new design for your shop, in your account area, click on "Manage Streetshop", then click the "Create New Product" button. This will load the designer into your Streetshops editor and instead of Add to Basket, you have the option to Save to Shop.

Can I add my previous designs to my Streetshop?

Can I add my previous designs to my Streetshop?

Any design you have previously bought can be added to your Streetshop through your account page, on the "Previous designs" page you can view all your past designs.

Below each preview of your previous designs is a large "Add design to my Streetshop" button, click this to load the design into your Streetshops t-shirt designer. You will be able to edit the design before adding it as a product on your shop.

This design feature is great if you are just starting your Streetshop and have previous designs you love, it also allows you to order a test sample from us to check you are happy with the design before you add it to your shop.

How can I make sure my designs only appear in my Streetshop?

The only way to guarantee this is to create your designs in your account area using the "Manage Streetshop", "Create New Product" function. If you design your shirts in the Streetshirts customer design area and don't untick the "make design public" tick box, you will allow your design to be public and others will be able to view it on Streetshirts.

Any designs you create in your Streetshops area will only ever be accessible by you and viewable by your customers on your shop.

What products can I sell?

You can sell any items currently available on Streetshirts. These include clothing, badges, hats and mugs! More items are being added all the time so keep updating your Streetshop with the latest new thing.

What products can I sell?

Can I easily produce the same design on different items?

Of course! After you've created the original design, having clicked on Save to Shop, you are offered the ability to change the base product behind the design, without having to start from scratch each time.

Can I put a description next to each item?

Yes, absolutely. When customers click on one of your items, it brings up a description of your item. Some parts are automatically generated from the choices you made when you designed it, for example the name of the item you chose and the materials you chose for your design. There is also space for you to add your own description of the product. This is your opportunity to really sell it to them!

Can I organise my items?

You certainly can. Once you have one or more items for your Streetshop, you may like to organise them into categories. You can have as many categories as you wish, so you can sort your items by type, similarity, design or whatever else you choose. The first category will be your Streetshop homepage, so choose it carefully to best represent what you offer. You might want to call it "Featured", "Favourites" or "This month's specials" to highlight certain designs. To place an item in a particular category, simply click on the item and choose the category from the drop down list.

What will my Streetshop look like?

Whatever you like! We have made great efforts to create the most flexibility possible so you can alter your Streetshop as much as your own capabilities will allow. Even with no prior knowledge of web design, you can create a Streetshop unique to you following our simple step by step guide.

How much control will I have over my Streetshop?

It's your Streetshop, you can make it look and organise it however you see fit.

How do I customise my Streetshop?

Just like using our online designer, there are infinite possibilities to customise your Streetshop!

Firstly, you can choose where and how your Streetshop appears on the web. If you don't have a web presence anywhere else on the net, then you can create your Streetshop at www.streetshirts.co.uk/yourstreetshopnamehere. Do you already have your own website? Add your Streetshop to your site by typing in the domain name of the page you wish it to appear on. We have purpose-built Streetshops to fit into a pre-existing website template, so you won't have any awkward adjustments to make. Want to add your Streetshop to your blog? Just copy and paste the code into your blog, it's that easy!

Then, following our step by step guide, you can alter the appearance of your Streetshop, making it unique to you and your style. You can create your own banner, choose background colours and patterns... Already an accomplished web designer? Alter away to your heart's content; Streetshops have been created to offer the best flexibility for customisation.

Will my Streetshop have Streetshirts branding all over it?

Streetshops are brought to you by Streetshirts, but we don't plaster your shop with our banners and logos. The name Streetshirts appears once at the bottom of your Streetshop, with a link to our terms and conditions. This is a legal requirement, but we make it as unobtrusive as possible. It's your Streetshop!

Why is my full name on my Streetshops?

It is our policy that all Streetshop owners should be accountable for their own designs, plus it gives the customers extra reassurance that they are dealing with a real person whom they can contact.

faqs - Commission

Can I earn commission?

Absolutely! Some of our most successful are benefitting from the increase of cash in their pockets. Commission is paid on all orders of your own unique designs that are paid for, dispatched and not returned or discovered as fraudulent.

Please note, Streetshoppers are responsible for their own tax payments on any income earned, and for the purposes of any monies paid Streetshoppers are treated as self-employed.

How does the commission work?

Commission is set automatically at 15%, and is paid on the amount left after VAT and postage of £2.63 per item. We have to pay VAT to the government, and we have to pay Royal Mail to deliver the items. After that, we pay the commission on every penny. So if the item costs £20, we pay £3.33 to the government as VAT (currently 20%), and £2.63 to Royal Mail for postage. That leaves £14.04, of which we pay you your 15% commission. That's a neat £2.10 in your pocket!

We pay commission on all designs that are uniquely yours.

faqs - Customer Service

Who handles customer service?

We do! We know you want to concentrate on the front part of the shop, creating the designs and updating it regularly. We take the customer service off your hands, after all, we are the experts on the products and the production methods.

The great thing about running a Streetshop is that you don't have to get involved in taking your customer's payment, or in the production of the item! We do all that for you, so you can concentrate on what you're good at - designing great products.

Customers buy your products through your Streetshop by clicking on the Buy now button below the desired item. They can choose their size, preferred colour and garment with your design on.

Payment is taken online and their order is produced and dispatched from our Streetshirts main facility. Orders are normally dispatched within 48 hours and often in as little as 24 hours! They are sent, from the UK, by Royal Mail 1st class and typically arrive within 1-2 days from dispatch.

Streetshirts also handles all customer service for you too! We pride ourselves in providing top quality products as designed by you.

Please note that as the items are customised one-offs, they can only be returned if they are faulty, whereupon a remake or a refund will be offered.

We will also provide you with anonymised data in your account area so that you can monitor product performance, track best sellers and keep your Streetshop right on track.

Who makes the items?

The products are all made for you by Streetshirts, in our main production facility in Leeds.

How quickly will orders be dispatched?

Orders will normally be dispatched within 48 hours, and often in as little as 24 hours from ordering!

What delivery methods will be used?

Items are sent using Royal Mail 1st class delivery, and typically arrive in 1-2 working days after dispatch.

What if a customer isn't happy with their order?

If the order is faulty, we will absolutely remake the items for them. All other choices (for example colour, size etc) are down to the customer, so as long as we have provided what they have ordered they are sure to be happy.

What is the refund policy?

We would offer a refund on any proven faulty item without hesitation. Otherwise, the goods provided are customised one-offs, unique to each order, so we cannot offer a refund if the customer changes their mind.

How will my customers know what size to order?

Upon selecting the size they require before adding the item to their basket there is a link to a size guide. This guide opens up in a pop up and provides detailed information for each garment including the measurement in inches for the individual sizes to fit.

faqs - Promotion Advice

How can I promote my Streetshop?

First and foremost, make sure you have a Streetshop worth promoting! Make sure you have something to offer, and make the effort to regularly update your Streetshop so customers will want to keep coming back. Also make your Streetshop the best it can possibly be. You don't want to be directing people to a Streetshop with no products!

Remember that your first category choice forms the homepage of your Streetshop, so think about what you want the first thing your customers see to be. It's a good idea to frequently update this category - customers like a Streetshop that regularly offers different products. It shows the owner is fresh, forward thinking and forever moving with the times. High street shops don't keep the same window display month after month, so apply the same rule to your Streetshop and build regular repeat visitors.

Good title ideas for your first category are "Latest", "New this month", "Favourites"... the options are endless!

Make good use of the sales data we provide - got a good seller? Highlight it! Got something that no-one buys? Perhaps try it as a first category item for a few weeks, or make the decision and get rid! Don't let your site stagnate with dusty old items nobody wants - keep it fresh and regularly update it by adding new products and removing the old.

Next, make great use of all the social networking sites. You're probably already a member of at least two, make it work for you! Use the share buttons at the bottom of your Streetshop to share it with your friends, and encourage them to do the same. Before you know it, you have spread your roots across the web and people you don't know are looking at your Streetshop. Keep everyone updated with your new products, start fan-pages on the various sites, and why not join the twitter revolution?!

Encourage all your friends to do the same and get them to get their friends to do it too! Follow it up with your own fan-page on facebook or bebo and get all your friends (and theirs too!) to join. Regularly update it with info on your latest great design, and why not do twitter updates too? The more things you do, using all the different sites at your fingertips, the more your Streetshop will become famous!

Got a blog? Copy and paste the link from your account area into it to immediately introduce your Streetshop to yet another audience. Again, let everyone know what's new and why your designs and your Streetshop are the best thing ever.

Don't forget the humble email and word of mouth as great methods of telling people about what you're up to. If what you're offering is good, people will delight in your success! Tell everyone what it is you're doing and how brilliant it is, not to mention how brilliant you are! Hell, if you want to tell them how brilliant we are too, we won't complain!

Also, ask anyone you know with a website to link to your Streetshop. The more links you get, the more chance you have of appearing in the search engines.

How can I take my promoting to the next level?

If you're serious about making a success of your Streetshop, and signs from sales are promising, you could take it to the next level and advertise your site through sponsored links in the search engines. Different search engines operate differently, but normally this works by choosing key search words you'd like to appear for, choosing a price per click (which determines how high up the sponsored link list you come) and only paying when someone actually clicks on your link. Better still, you can set a cap on how much you are willing to spend in a month, so you won't be stung by a high click rate.

You could also think about what market your particular designs suit, and look into advertising or Promoting Your Streetshop in these areas. Start small and using resources to hand - it's amazing what you can achieve with a bunch of mates wearing some of your own designs and willing to give up their time!
