DESIGN IDEAS FOR YOUR CANVAS
Your travel photos will look brilliant enlarged and printed onto canvas or acrylic, ready to display. But what about creating a canvas montage of your travel memories! Easy and fun to create, this can be done on the 'Design Your Own' page of the website.
All our prints are available in two sizes, 12x8 inches and 18x12 inches.
The advantages of printing onto canvas are high definition prints on a textured heavyweight canvas. This is stretched onto a museum grade tulipwood frame, ready to hang. The canvas is 25mm deep. Prints are water resistant, and will not fade.
Acrylic printing offers print directly onto acrylic glass. It has a solid, glossy finish. Prints come with clever fixings that position the glass a few centimetres away from the wall, to create that pristine 'do not touch' effect. Acrylic prints are also durable outdoors. The acrylic is available in two thicknesses, standard is 10mm, and Acrylic Lite is 5mm thick.
If you're looking for something a bit different, another option is the Alloybox print. This is print onto brushed aluminium metal, creating an unusual, expensive looking finish! These lightweight prints are durable for indoor and outdoor display.
DRAW YOUR ROUTE
Perhaps you could create a print of a route you have taken, drawn onto a road map. You could combine this with photos and notes from your trip.
If you're feeling more creative, a world map printed on canvas could be perfect for marking destinations with pins!
DESIGN YOUR OWN
You can get started on your design by using the 'add image' button in the creation software to quickly locate your own image files. Click to upload them into the assets box on the left, and select 'no' to the vectorise option. Add as many photos as you like! You can add photos, logos and illustration, they can have transparent backgrounds too!
Click on the image you would like to start with in the assets tab. This will appear in the middle of your artwork frame. The image can be re-sized from the corners, rotated to an angle, and freely moved around the screen. The select tool is handy for this sort of thing! You can choose your preferred print material using the 'select a product' box on the right, this is just above the assets tab.
This is the fun part, experimenting with the layout and positioning! You might like to create a layered effect to the images, using the arrows below each image to push backward or forward. The measurements are shown around each image, to help you work out your scale.
There are many things you can do to customise at this stage. You can choose an image or photo to stretch across the background, for example a brick wall effect might suit some imagery.If you use the slider on the left to change to the advanced mode, this will allow you to draw directly onto the canvas. A background fill colour or pattern can be created.
You can use the 'add text' button to add a message to your montage. To type, double click in the central box. The fill colour button on the right allows the text colour to be changed, and the select tool can be used to re-position. You can choose from a large selection of fonts using the button on the right hand side.
HOLIDAY SNAPS
Holiday snaps look great when edited for print. Sometimes it's better to edit the photo first, by cropping to remove any edges you don't need. Sometimes a print is most effective when only part of the original photograph is visible.
FAMILY TREE
Display your Family Tree on canvas or acrylic! This would make a beautiful addition to the home, especially if you customise the tree to fit in with the decor!
CUSTOMISED GIFTS
A montage of a baby's first year is easy to create using a selection of photographs and imagery. A perfect gift for the grandparents! Or maybe a customised canvas for your baby's nursery? These can be made really personal by adding names and dates of birth, and would make an unusual christening gift.
A child's drawing can be kept forever when printed onto acrylic or canvas, a lovely addition to your kitchen decor! Scan the drawing onto your computer, and save it amongst your files. It is then really easy to use the 'add image' button on the 'Design Your Own' page to position the image onto the print.
A cheerful, colourful canvas would look great in a young child's room! Imagine a jungle scene, crazy monsters, or a coral reef scene!
There is so many exciting things to try! You could create your own 'Where's Wally' style canvas, using the photo montage techniques with transparent background images. This would make a lovely present for a child.
PRINTING MEMORIES
You can create a lovely display of your wedding photos! Or enlarge the best one ready to hang.
Wedding photos will best suit acrylic print, to keep them looking pristine forever.
A selection of photos printed onto glass with no background image will look great when hung onto the wall, the texture of the wall will be seen between the photos. A similar layout is effective for family photos, a moderen way of displaying a selection of photographs from old albums!
