Tricks & tips (for an amazing design)

HAVE FUN WITH OUR 'NO LIMITS' T-SHIRT DESIGNER!

With our super-equipped design software you can add your own images or text, and quickly edit sizing and font. Or add a design from our huge library!

Create a design in a matter of minutes, or spend hours finalising your masterpiece.

Add your vector file, or draw your design directly onto the garment with the draw tool. Add text with the click of a button, and change it by selecting from our huge variety of fonts. The text colour is easily edited too. Create curved text if you like, and change the sizing, spacing and angles.

TIP: Use the slider to change from simple to advanced mode, to bring up more designing options!

We effectively print block colour images and text using our vinyl print material. Vector images are ideal for this type of print. Here on the design page, you are able to convert an image into a vector by the click of a button. To use this option, you must make sure your original image is to a high quality (at least 300 dpi) and has no gradients or transparent pixels.

SHARE WITH FRIENDS

Use the Save button to email and save the design for later, or share with friends. They can use the link to edit and order the design themselves!

Show off your favourite t-shirt designs on Facebook, get some cheeky comments and 'likes' on your design by clicking the Facebook icon in the designer. You will need to sign in to your Face book account to share your design to your page.

TOO MUCH CHOICE!

Use the 'Select a Product' box to choose from hundreds of garment styles and colours to make something as unique and individual as you like! There will be a garment to match the theme of any design. Specific garment information is visible via the 'More Info' button, on the left-hand side of the screen, and you can head to our What Can I Design? page to find out more!

TOOL BOXES!

While you are designing, you may notice 'tool boxes' appearing to the right hand side. These contain lots of handy buttons to help you perfect your design, and they make things easier too!

Use the Grouping and Selection tool box to edit your vector files. You can click on part of the image and hold down the shift button on your keyboard to select multiple shapes. You can then click the Group Objects button to link them together. This allows you to then edit the colour of this group with the click of one button. There's the Ungroup button too, in case you change your mind!

Click Save Selection to save the group or selected shape in your assets tab.

The Edit tool box is very simple, it allows you to quickly copy, paste and delete, as well as undo and redo your previous actions.

The Align and Positioning tool box is useful. You can click the Align Top and Align Bottom buttons so that your image will automatically be positioned central to the bottom or top of your garment. Aligning vertical and horizontal will position the logo directly in the centre of the garment. You can flip your images too if you like!

TIP: Always remember to choose the select tool to enable you to edit aspects of your design.

Use the Draw tool to start a brand new design on our t-shirt designer! When you click draw, a new box will appear with your drawing tools. You can use the pen tool to create perfect angles and curves, or try working freehand using the pencil tool. There's the shape button, so you can quickly create a perfect shape, there's even a musical note and speech bubble shape! Try using the Front Minus Back option by selecting two overlapping shapes together, to remove areas from selected shapes. Use the zoom slider on the left hand side to work in more detail!

CAN SOMEONE DESIGN AN AMAZING T-SHIRT TODAY PLEASE?

You can design funny and serious t-shirts, or even start the next t-shirt trend! It's up to you what you do!

Here at Streetshirts, we see thousands of t-shirt designs every day. But only a few catch our eye. We're not sure why, there's so much opportunity to create a really effective design, and yet a lot of the features of our design page remain undiscovered by many.

DESIGN A 'TOUCHY FEELY' T-SHIRT!

There is a large selection of print materials to choose from. Flock has a lovely velvety finish to it, and if you mix flock with metallic print, glitter or flex, this will create something that stands out and looks great.

What about a textured dreamcatcher design- use flock brown shades to create the feather detail, and metallic for the beads. Using the brown and metallic colours on a brown t-shirt will probably work best.

USE BLACK ON BLACK!

Using a mixture of black and grey shades on a black t-shirt can be very effective. The design will show up in light, and if you choose a black glitter, this will sparkle and create a great subtle effect. Create hidden areas that can barely be seen, which will add another level to your t-shirt!

THINK BEFORE YOU ACT!

Think carefully about the layout of the t-shirt before designing. Use the side view buttons if you want your design to reach the edges of the garment. The design doesn't have to be central, maybe your design would be more suited to a vertical strip along one side of the garment, or at a diagonal all the way across!

MULTIPLY

Create a t-shirt full of coloured birds! A simple shape which can be multiplied easily using the copy and paste selection buttons.
