Printy

Loud and bold prints can be really fun to wear, but sometimes hard to pull off. In order to avoid making yourself look like a walking billboard or a giant fruit salad, there are some rules that you need to follow. A major problem that many people have with prints is that they overwhelm the face. This can be avoided by wearing prints farther away from your face (in your skirt or trousers for instance) or by shopping wisely with your personal palette in mind. If you hold a clothing item up to your face in a store and the effect of the print is to make your skin look pale or washed out, then go for a softer print. Pale colors and pastels are usually flattering to most skin types.

Loud prints are bound to draw attention to the body part that they are adorning so dress wisely. If you have a generously proportioned rear end then wearing garish, leopard print pants may not be a great idea. Wear prints on your best feature to make it stand out. Also, match a print with a neutral color like black or white. If you are a more courageous dresser, then pair a print with a solid, bright color like hot pink or lime green. Just make sure the color matches some element of your print’s color scheme.

Bold animal prints are making a comeback this season. Leopard and zebra prints can be found on everything from handbags to shoes. Most people can pull off smaller, more concentrated animal prints but things get more difficult as the prints get larger. For instance a cow print with a lot of white space between the black spots would not be flattering for most people. If you are not typically a bold dresser then start small. Buy a jacket with a printed lining or accessorize with printed apparel. Subtle items like gloves and scarves can add a lot of vibrancy to even the dullest outfits if they are made from printed fabrics. Shoes are also a great way to add prints to your wardrobe.
