How to look sporty

In this age of athleticism, it often pays to look sporty. Sports gear and workout gear are not just for the field or the gym. Elements from both classes of clothing can be worn during non-athletic activities. Trainers, for instance, are versatile shoes that can be worn with almost every outfit. Most shoe manufacturers make their trainers in a wide variety of colors and styles due to the knowledge that appearance is sometimes just as important as utility. Another way to look sporty is with stripes. Basically any pair of trousers or track pants, t-shirts or hoodies, are going to have an athletic vibe with a vertical stripe or two down the side.

Shirts with numbers on them also imitate big athletic jerseys but can still show off your shape. Girls who wear tight tank tops made from spandex with track pants or baggy athletic pants still achieve a sexy look while simultaneously looking sporty. Avoid wearing baggy clothes from head to toe. Loose track pants are fine as long as they’re fairly low slung on a woman’s hips and they are paired with a more form-fitting top. Warm up jackets and hoodies are a good way to cover up on chilly days. Old school zip-up Adidas jackets with simple stripes down the arms always look great. You can also get rugby shirts in smaller sizes these days. Girls look cute in these bold stripes that can be worn with almost anything, including skirts.

One mistake that people often make is combining athletic elements with non-athletic elements in their outfits. This always looks unfashionable. You can pair a sporty hoodie with jeans, but don’t try to pull off the athletic top with a skirt. Either give your entire outfit an athletic bent or stay far away from mixing and matching casual and sporty elements. The exception to this rule is trainers. Trainers can be worn with most trousers as long as they are not garishly athletic. If your trainers light up or need to be pumped, then keep them for the football field and wear more subtle trainers on the street.
