Heals and jeans
High heels are a great way to dress up your jeans for a date, a dinner party, or a night out dancing. The look is every man’s fantasy combination: a casual girl who also knows how to be sexy with feminine, strappy heels. The style is very versatile and can work with the tiniest heel on a pair of mules up to a heel several inches tall. The key to making this look work is in the jeans. If you are trying to dress up your jeans there are some important rules.
Jeans that are going out for a night on the town with heels need to follow certain guidelines. They cannot be your usual, baggy pair of faded jeans. These kinds of jeans are far too casual to wear with heels and will look mismatched. You cannot wear your Sunday afternoon, laze around the house denim with strappy sandals. The jeans you pair with high heels must be darker than you usually wear them. I repeat: no excessively faded denim! Darker jeans lend a classier feel to the usual style and are better suited for evening dress.
Secondly, low cut, boot cut jeans in stretch fabrics flatter every figure and look especially hot when paired with high heels. Even if you have a more generous figure, do not be afraid to buy fitted jeans. They will look better than baggy ones. The last rule to the jeans and high heels combination is proper length. The hem of your jeans should reach the heel of your shoes. It can be tricky to find jeans that are just right so you may have to shop with your favorite heels in hand. The jeans should not cover the heel or God forbid touch the ground and drag behind you as you strut. The hem can go halfway down your heel but that is all. You want your shoes to stand out as well as your legs. The exception to this rule is when you are pairing high heels with denim Capri pants. This is mostly a summer look but it can also work in early autumn if the weather permits. Capri pants are by definition a few inches above the ankle so it is fashionable to leave that space between your sandal and your hem.
The best heels to wear to pull off this sexy look have either a rounded or a spiky toe. The red carpet has been walked on with an equal amount of both shoes. It used to be that only fancy trousers could be paired with heels but now the forever youthful, denim fashion has embraced the sexy look. You can now wear jeans with high heels and be formal while maintaining both your youthfulness and your femininity. To complete the look, make sure you pair the jeans and heels combo with a sexy blouse in a finer fabric.
