The evening of the 27th saw a certain battle commence, this wasn't any ordinary battle but one with fashion in mind!  Camden's Proud Galleries became the backdrop to the fashion pack's style wars.  The concept was taken from America and hit the shores of the UK for the first time last night and what an evening it was.  The event was cungered up by hot brand, House of Diehl, the idea is to let a bunch of local fashionistas loose on the stage and bid them to create some top-notch pieces from any materials they can get their fashionable fingers on.  And when we say anything they can get their hands on that's exactly what we mean...from bin liners to old rags and even coat hangers and umbrellas!  The designers will create their couture, catwalk-potential masterpieces live in designated 5 minute slots, the finalists will then be under scutiny from a top panel of judges.  With the style panel including Jodie Harsh, Pam Hogg and VV Brown we hope their was some award winning creations!

Tie-dye gets an upgrade and floral goes abstract!  Forget the ditsy daisies, this season is loving the extravagant and OTT prints, perfect for the beach and those few cheeky cocktails you have planned for when the sun goes down!  Take some style notes from the House of Holland and Gucci, both these designers are hot on the heels of s/s '09s floral extravaganza!  Marine and orange shades are perfect for summer and this trend has no rules on clashing!  So don't be afraid to rock some marble-effect patterns with one, two or even several hot hues!  Swap the flip flops for heels to add an instant glam edge to any one of these top tees, with the addition of a few metallic accessories, you're set to take your look straight from the beach to the bar.

Diesel has always been a fan of new music and to show their on going support, the up-and-coming brand is set to launch a hot new radio station.  Yes that's right, as well as looking highly fashionable in their on-trend attire, you can now listen to fashion!  Set to hit the airwaves on May the 14th, the station will go live for a whole six weeks, in both Diesel stores and online!  It will then make it's return in September.  Diesel is taking to the radio to coincide with '09s U:Music hunt, where the brand intends to search for two fresh new bands!  Wannabe rock stars can upload their top tunes to the website where they will be Judged by a jury of industry professionals, musicians and journalists.  The chosen talent will then tour across 10 cities.  Visiting the likes of London, Tokyo, New York, Madrid, Paris and Berlin, the winning artists are set to hit the road in July.
