Get graphic with playful tees...perfect for festival season!

30. April 2009 17:18

We are all about playful, in your face tees this month...whether they are fun illustrations or OTT grunge copy, fashionistas left, right and centre can't get enough!  They are definitely an investment to any wardrobe as they look great teamed with just about everything!  From bold print leggings to must-have festival style denim hot pants, statement tees are the way forward!  Think punk-rock meets '90s grunge and a bit of retro electro mix thrown in there...perfect for a down and dirty festival.  Move the grunge up a notch with a kick of colour and go all Vivienne Westwood with the slogan tees.  Be sure to add some attitude with a mesh headscarf and some quirky shades!

Last chance, never forget, OMG...say whatevers on your mind with any of these designs or alternatively opt for a sweet illustration and channel LA brand Wild Fox.  Click on a link to get graphic!

Toughen up those tropicals...yes paradise prints are back! Now all we need is a little sun!

29. April 2009 15:23

Get rummaging through that wardrobe for those tropical prints and add a little touch of paradise to any outfit!  This look is so summer and looks great sharpened up with this seasons tailored trend.  Add a boyfriend blazer, a slick pair of trousers and a trilby, you'll channel Gucci s/s 09 catwalk perfectly.  Blending old and new trends seems to be on every fashionista's to do list, adding a fresh twist to an outfit you already have is every recessionista's dream.  This trend works on anything from primary coloured singlets to bustier dresses.  With the addition of  a panama hat, some wayfarer shades and towering heels, you'll certainly add a little sunshine to anyone's day!

Gucci showcased elements of safari, psychadelic tropical print, boyish glam and a military-cargo, beachy-marine infused look all in one collection.  If this doesn't get you in the mood for summer I don't know what will!

Show a little of your wild side with this season's must-have bold animal prints.

28. April 2009 09:24

Forget the traditional animal print, this season designers are revealing a little of their wild side with bold animal images.  We love this fierce alternative to the long-standing print and it's just in time for your summer wardrobe.  The clothes definitely do the talking so the rest of your outfit should be kept simple.  Tsumori Chisato's jersey print dress and Christopher Kane's gorilla number are some of our favourites and guaranteed to get you noticed!

Kane has never been one to shy away from going completely OTT when it comes to fashion.  These gaping gorilla screenprints certainly won't go missed in our s/s 09 closet collection!  His range was said to be inspired by the planet of the apes.  He's not the only designer this season to splash some powerful prints onto the runway!  Topshop, Karen Walker, Alexander McQueen and Bernhard Willhelm are just a few fashionistas that have attacked tees and tanks with our furry friends!

The summer holidays are fast approaching and of course, the perfect excuse to indulge in the ever-cool Americana style.

27. April 2009 14:05

On everyone’s 'must do' list is the trip of a lifetime, and it seems this season the all American road trip is in pole position.  So why not dress for the occasion with a trend that screams ultimate rock-chick!  This rock-chick however has an added retro American twist, from vintage memorabilia tees, 1980's visors and plaid shirts to old school sneeker's and pop art prints.  The only drive you should be seen in is of course the Cadillac convertible, but if that's a bit of a stretch, make sure you are at least paying ode to the Thelma and Louise style classic in a vintage t-shirt.

If your intention this summer is to swap the fish and chips for a new menu of buffalo burgers and ice cream, click on a link and work those diners in style!

Designer of the moment launches her a/w '09 collection and we have to say we're all under Isabel's spell.

24. April 2009 12:23

Despite this designer just being brought to our attention, she's really been right under our noses all along!  Kirsten Dunst, Kate Moss, Lou Doillon and Julianne Moore have all been spotted working her laid-back approach to this seasons hottest trends.  The no frills attire, all curtsy of Isabel Marant, offers a fun, sexy and easily wearable style and we love it.  From clingy animal print skirts, droopy vests and statement studded grunge boots, her a/w '09 collection projects a certain sophistication with a definite edge.  The boots in particular house over 500 nails, each applied by hand, now that's some serious dedication to fashion!  The designer is said to have road tested every garment until it's exactly right.  The s/s '09 slouch boots are on every fashionista's list and a must-have cult buy in both New York and London.  Her fresh creations certainly promise to add a little sophisticated rock to your wardrobe, now all you need is a grunge-girl tee to team with those killer bad-boy heels.

Take no nonsence from the fashion police with a little individual style, these creations certainly show some attitude and will look perfect with skinnies, distressed skirts or layered over one of the designer's ruffle dresses.  If like us you've been taken under Isabel's spell and want some top tees to team with her new collaborations, simply click on a design and you'll be working the laid-back luxe in no time!

A whole lot of pink, London's it crowd and one of fashions greatest icons...sounds like the perfect excuse to party!

23. April 2009 10:55

And party they did, everyone from socialites including Peaches Geldof to top notch designers a la Danielle Scutt.  The cause, none other than the celebration of one of fashion's greatest icons!  Yes, Barbie certainly worked her 50th birthday in style.  With an abundance of champagne, pink of course, and a selection of to-die-for miniature cupcakes the 'it' crowd made sure they made an appearance at the new shrine of the plastic princess.  The two week pop-up store, dedicated to fashion's highness is inspired by none other than Henry Holland, and takes to the rails in the form of Barbie enthused skater dresses, leggings and trench coats.  The curator of this fab line is said to be thinking of taking the pink theme onto his s/s 2010 catwalk collection.  If only Barbie herself could have been there, mind the £90,000 Swarovski-studded pink car waiting outside was quite enough!

There's no doubt about it, Barbie is a pop culture phenomenon and her career is hotter than ever!  Kenneth Cole proves she's a small doll but still a big deal, he's created a capsule line of quirky slogan tees for all her fans!  Can't quite get your hands on the real thing, we've come up with a few catwalk copy's to channell the designers off-beat style.

Feel good tees are all the rage on the fashion front and guaranteed to put a smile on your face!

22. April 2009 09:55

From Paul & Joe's bonkers kitty design to Marc Jacobs' starry offerings, the latest 'feel-good' rage in the fashion world isn't a herbal health drink but a happy tee!  Guests at the recent store opening of Lanvin managed to bag themselves goodie bags containing none other than cartoon doodle esque t-shirts, curtsy of Alber Elbaz.  This credit crunch friendly trend is going down a storm, not only because creations are emblazoned with divine yet cute characters, the fact is the bright humorous designs put an instant smile on our faces!  Agy's already been spotted wearing a retro-cool tee whilst shopping in the Big Apple, if these darling instant fashion fixes are good enough for the model of the moment, we know they'll be on every fashionista's must-have list in no time!

So all you Lanvin-lusting lambs that didn't manage to bag yourself a goodie bag at the opening. Fear not!  We have donned the designers style and adorned our own tees with cuter than cute fashion doodles a la Alber Elbaz, think plain white tees and vests adorned with dreamy dresses, french sayings, pearls and cute little sketchy faces.

Up and coming Swedish design duo release a divine yet offbeat fresh collection.

21. April 2009 09:21

Jojo and Malou's graphical and illustration skills have always been in high demand, with past creative collaborations including Japanese Nylon and dazed and confused prints for Elle.  With their quirky and surreal new line we can understand why...it's fairy tale chic to the max, inspired by none other than Alice in Wonderland.  Melting clocks and diamond cat illustrations create an unconventional twist to everyday garments yet make them completely in-tune with this seasons style.  The two designers met eight years ago during an art foundation at the Kent Institute Of Art And Design, they then went on to combine their talents to produce a collection for the renowned Fashion Fringe competition and have so far been twice awarded a new generation sponsorship to appear in London Fashion Week.

We think the twosome are set to only go further and can't wait for the far-out collaborations to hit the rails, but until they do why not pay ode to the fashion duo with a dreamlike inspired tee!

Dressy details make Nicole Farhi's new line not just mere clothing but a work of art.

20. April 2009 13:16

Nicole Farhi's new collection for 2009 can only be described as a work of art rather than just mere items of clothing.  She was one of the first designers to continue on the trend of painterly florals emerging on the catwalks of New York Fashion Week, judging by the beautifully crafted pieces on offer we're so glad she did!  This season, the catwalk produced a different take on the seen before floral adornment.  Gone are the Laura Ashley romantics, the new prints are both contemporary and chic.  Top designers have taken note channelling the dressy details created by Farhi, Nanette lepore and Diane von Furstenburg have both opted for a painterly graphic yet sophisticated palette.  Think Monet's water lilies with a modern vibe and fresh colour.

Forget the slogan tees, this season is all about gorgeous graphics, dreamy colours and sketchy surreal notes.

17. April 2009 08:58

The hectic energetic hum of San Paulo is certainly brought to life through the designs of Vanessa Da Silva, it's not surprising that she grew up in the centre of such a buzzing backdrop.  Silva is said to have been dedicated to drawing and dreaming as long as she can remember, and she has illustrated these particular dreamy inclinations in her latest capsule collection.  Her new line can only be described as fabulously bright, a little surreal yet still adorable.  Her spring 2009 collaborations feature a range of sweet tees, delectable dresses and endearing vests.  All garments show characteristics of her unique style handwriting with elements taken from the theme entitled 'jungle goes shopping'.  You better be quick if you want to get your hands on any one of these eccentric designs, these darling works of art hit the rails this month!  Click on any one of the designs and dream up your own Silva lined creations.

And she's not the only generator of Glam, every designer left, right and centre seems to be incorporating quirky illustrations and sketchy style into their collaborations.  Take some inspiration from Barbara Hulanicki's fresh new line, her 60's and 70's brand Biba certainly changed the face of UK fashion and now she's back to what she does best and making an inevitable come-back!
